The Estimator focuses on supporting the inside and outside sales team by working with contractors to estimate quantities of building materials needed to complete commercial and/or residential projectsThe plans are pulled from online plan rooms or received electronically from contractors and industry-specific software is used in the estimating processAs required you will be managing the project estimating process from beginning to end - from bidding to completing shop drawingsThe main focus is on flat roofs but also need to be prepared to pick up jobs that focus on roofing accessories and be able to gather information about these requests independently.
This candidate will work out of our Butler, WI branchThe plans are pulled from online plan rooms or received electronically from contractors and industry-specific software is used in the estimating processWe have an outside sales staff that assists with pricing and securing the project estimates into orders and our inside sales staff handles entering the orders and the coordination of product deliveryWe primarily work with Roofing, HVAC, Decking, Siding, and Windows.

Responsibilities:
Proactively search electronic plan rooms for projectsReading and interpreting drawings and specificationsUse construction standards and industry-based software to create takeoffs and material quotes for contractors based on drawings and specificationsCollaborate with other estimators to manage team workloadRevise project takeoffs and quotes due to project changesCreate shop drawings when projects are securedProvide direct support to inside and outside sales teamsConsult with contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to resolve issuesBuild solid relationships with coworkers, architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers based on trust and respectStay updated with industry trends, codes, and regulations related to construction materialsProduce consistent, error-free work based on defined regulations and standards using a steady, methodical work styleDecision-making that is based on defined procedures, and job scope and supported by managementJob Requirements:
Blueprint/Specification reading skillsConstruction materials knowledge directly related to roofing, siding, windows, doors and HVAC preferredBasic math and estimating knowledgeSome blueprint scaling, plotting and printing experienceSome knowledge of Office SuiteSome drafting (AutoCAD) is helpfulExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsTime management and organizationPositive attitude and team playerDesire to be a part of a team that helps contractors secure profitable workBenefits Package:

2-year Technical school or a degree in Construction Management or equivalent job experiencePrior experience with residential and or commercial wood frame constructionProficiency in Taper-Plus or Planswift, and AutoCAD or related CAD drafting softwareSome blueprint scaling, plotting, and printing experienceKnowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook.
